Brenda Jones is a compassionate and experienced therapist dedicated to empowering clients toward wellness and helping them to thrive.  With 25 years of specialized experience in outpatient mental health treatment, Brenda offers individual and couples counseling.  She earned her Master's degree in Social Work from Virginia Commonwealth University and her Bachelor's degree in Psychology from the University of Central Florida.

Brenda's treatment approach is rooted in person-centered, evidence-based Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and a strengths-based philosophy.  She helps clients explore their thought patterns and how shifting old ways of thinking can transform their emotional well being and improve their ability to more effectively cope with life's demands. She is also trained in Dialectical Behavior herapy (DBT) and has a particular interest in helping people who are dealing with loss and grief.  Brenda has extensive experience working with adults facing a variety of mental health challenges, including depression, anxiety, marital stress, self esteem issues, trauma, relationship difficulties, grief, parenting and stress management.

She focuses on boundary setting, assertiveness skills and coping with change.

Believing in the importance of focusing on what is working in one's life, Brenda encourages clients to build upon their strengths while letting go of what no longer serves them.  She is committed to helping people make positive changes and achieve their personal goals. She is now accepting new clients 18 and older.

Outside of her professional endeavors, Brenda enjoys running, kayaking, and spending quality time with her family.  Since moving to Wisconsin, she has been exploring interesting places throughout the state, embracing the beauty and adventure it offers.
